Next-Generation of Microalgae Farming for Tomorrow's Nutrition

Photosynthesis is one of the most if not the most important reaction for life on earth. It is responsible for converting sun energy into biochemical energy to feed practically all life on earth. It is responsible for creating an oxygen rich atmosphere which allows the existence of higher life forms. It is also responsible for the underground accumulation of energy dense fossil fuels which allowed the development of modern society. However, humanity is exploiting the products of photosynthesis to the limit and causing an environmental breakdown (climate change). 

To sustainably support humanity on earth, it is imperative to dramatically expand the global photosynthetic output.

And who could do this better than microalgae?!


Microalgae are by far the most efficient photosynthesizers and a source for sustainable protein, fertilizer, biofuel, bioplastic, carbon capture and more. They are key for a sustainable future. However, microalgae are tipically cultivated in water, which results in cost prohibitive operation and poor yields.

One critical step in the evolution of life was when a fish decided to crawl out of the water. We at Omaiko evolved and decided to take microalgae out of the water, eliminating operational bottlenecks and achieving unparalleled yields. With our novel semi-dry vertical biofilm farming platform, we are pioneering the next generation of microalgae farming to achieve cost-efficiency and fast scalability.

 
Our vision is to unlock the full potential of microalgae for a sustainable future.


Our first mission is to rapidly scale production of sustainable and healthy protein that meets the needs of the fast growing market of protein enriched foods while aligning with UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Omaiko was founded in 2022 in Kiryat Shmona, a vibrant Ag-tech and Food-tech region in the north of Israel. By merging scientific knowledge with market experience and product innovation, we have forged a dynamic founder team committed to transforming the future of nutrition and microalgae farming. With growing market interest, significant breakthroughs and backed by strong partnerships, Omaiko is moving towards production and growth while positioning itself at the forefront of agricultural and food innovation.
